Download version 1.04 with installer [6.6 MB]
This file contains an installer. To install onto your system, unzip the contents into a temporary directory and run setup.exe.

Download version 1.04 without installer [3.8 MB]
This file does not contain an installer. To install onto your system, unzip the contents into the desired directory. Bubblette.exe will start the game.

Regardless of which download you choose, if you install the new version into the same directory as an older version, your preferences and score statistics will be preserved.

System Requirements:

  • Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, or ME.
  • At least 8 MB RAM.
  • At least 10 MB free disk space.

Changes from version 1.03:

  • Bubbles are now closer together. This makes it easier to see patterns.

Changes from version 1.02:

  • Added a preferences screen allowing game type and colors to be changed.

  • In prior versions, clicking in the dead space between bubbles would de-select the currently selected group of bubbles (and also would not create a new selection). This had been by design, but upon further play testing, it has been decided that clicking the dead space between bubbles should count as selecting a bubble if the dead space clicked is adjacent to a bubble. (The dead space in cleared out areas will still nullify selections.)

  • Decreased RAM consumption. (Previously, the game required 16 MB of RAM.)

  • Many of the windows have been made prettier.

Changes from version 1.01:

  • Fixed a bug that occurs with older sound cards that only can play one channel of digital audio (the WAV stuff, not the MIDI stuff). Version 1.01 of Bubblette assumed that that you had at least two channels of digital audio available. I have now added the appropriate error handling for this case.

The source was written for Franz Allegro Common Lisp v5.01 for Windows. It has only been tried with case-sensitivity set to :case-sensitive-lower, but theoretically it should work with case insensitive Lisps as well.
